Wraps, wraps, and more wraps!

Today was wrap wash day in the Duquette house! All but two of our wraps got a bath - both because they haven't been used since the last time we washed them.

We finally invested in an ironing board, which made ironing my wraps about a million times easier (and way more enjoyable) than it used to be!

(That's our Didymos Ruby Hemp Indio, in case anyone was wondering.)

And... we got a new wrap today! Pavo Jade Giraffe came to live with us... and it is gloooorious. Such a pretty color, and great to wrap with. I'll have a review coming on that soon enough ;)

After ironing my wraps today, I have a new found appreciation for them. The way a wrap looks out of the wash is so so different from how it looks after it's been wrapped with. There's textures that fade away with wrapping. The whole feel of a wrap is different. And while ironing them, you get up close and personal with your wraps (and you might even notice a few pulls/nubs that you hadn't seen before).

Okay, so maybe I'm being a little weird and nerdy. But come on. ^That looks pretty cool, don't you think?

Woven Wings Dove Geo {Wrap Review}

I've had this blog up for about a month or so now, and I've been wanting to start posting - I just haven't quite been able to figure out where to start.

Well, I figured it out today. I'm really big into babywearing, and I received a new wrap in the mail today. A friend requested that I try and write a review for said wrap, so.... here we are. I'll warn you, I've never written a review before, so this may be lacking.

Let me start off by saying that I did not buy this wrap brand new - I'm the second owner, as far as I know. So I can't speak for how the wrap feels out of the box, or before a wash and being worn.

The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the package was how light, soft, and airy it felt. It's 100% cotton. Mister Google tells me that the weight for this wrap is 252g/m2. I don't own a scale, so I can't weigh it myself. Just based off of other wraps I've felt, I would say this wrap feels MUCH lighter than that, in hand. It's got a little bit of stretch, but nothing compared to some other wraps I've felt.

I can't really tell which side of this is supposed to be the "right" side. I personally don't think it really matters though, because both sides are great.

As far as measurements go, this was sold to me as a long 2/short 3. It measures in at 3.01m long, so it's definitely closer to a 3 than a 2. The width is a bit of a down side for me. It measures in at just 59cm wide. It was great for when I was wrapping my (almost) 5 month old... but it became a problem when I tried to wrap my 2 year old. I threw her up in a quick RRRR, and she popped her seat almost instantly, because there was hardly enough fabric to create a seat for her. Wrapping her arms out instead of arms in might help, but I haven't tried.

For the short time that I did wear my 2 year old, this wrap was VERY supportive. No sore shoulders or digginess at all.

As for my 5 month old, this wrap gave me one of the most solid FWCC TAS I've had in a while. My daughter is a bit of a leaner, so most times, I have to readjust her two or three times before I tie off. But not this time. I don't know if it was because I just had a good wrap day, or if it was the wrap - but it was pretty much perfect the first time.

All in all, I'd have to say that I'm surprised by this wrap. I was so taken back by the thinness when I first unpackaged it, but I think it'll end up being a GREAT summertime wrap. My two year old doesn't get wrapped very often, but when she does, I have several other wraps to choose from - so I think I can get over the lack of width that this wrap has.
